Farming is often referred to as the soul of the nation. It attracts a practical and pragmatic type of person who has a love of the land, but is often faced with unique financial challenges that are not always accepted by traditional financial institutions.
Trophy Tractors is the Massey Ferguson dealer in Letsitele city in Limpopo and has assisted farmers with the ever increasing demand for mechanised equipment required to maintain profitability in the current environment.
Gavin Dorfling of Trophy Tractors puts if perfectly: “The constraint that a farmer faces is that payment for the crop is only made on delivery. This has meant many a farmer has not had the cash to purchase what he might require for the harvest”.
However, Trophy Tractors have found that they can service the requirements of the farmer with a customised full maintenance rental payment structure from UTAL Asset Rental. Gavin says they were paid the full purchase price at the time of the deal – and the farmer could then utilise the equipment to pay for the cumulative rental after the harvest.
“In addition, the subsidy for maintenance built into the rental cost meant not only could we regularly visit his farm to ensure that the asset was fully maintained, but also help predict his future requirements based on market trends.”
